Nazem Akoum inaugural holder of Endowed Professorship
Dr. Nazem Akoum, professor (Cardiology) is the inaugural holder of the Graham and Brenda Siddal Endowed Professorship in Arrhythmia Research.
Akoum is an expert and national authority on the genesis, mechanisms, and treatment of atrial fibrillation. He has been the director of the Atrial Fibrillation Program since 2015, director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program since 2021, and section head of Cardiac Electrophysiology since 2022.
The Graham and Brenda Siddall Endowed Professorship in Arrhythmia Research’s intent aligns with Dr. Akoum’s passion for cardiology and his track record of excellence in research, education, and community outreach.
