Betsy Buswell is our new Vice Chair for Finance and Administration

We are pleased to announce that Betsy Buswell will be our new Vice Chair of Finance and Administration, effective April 5.

Betsy first joined the University of Washington Department of Medicine in 2008 as an administrative specialist in the Division of Medical Genetics. In 2009, she moved to White Salmon, Washington, where she worked her way up to Head of School at Little Oak Montessori. Returning to Seattle and the department in 2014, she managed various faculty and fellowship programs in Academic HR before joining the finance team as finance manager.

For the last 3 years, she has been the administrator in the Division of Cardiology, and she will continue to work with the division until a new administrator is hired to ensure a smooth transition. 

“It has been my privilege to work with our outstanding faculty, staff and trainees in the Department of Medicine,” she said. “And I am thrilled to have the opportunity to further contribute to our shared success in this new role.”
