Faculty Spotlight: Victoria Fang

Dr. Victoria Fang's recent promotion to clinical professor of medicine is based on her leadership within Primary Care and Population Health at the University of Washington, and her outstanding clinical and teaching skills.

Dr. Victoria Fang completed her medical degree from Tufts University, followed by residency at the University of California, San Diego. She joined the University of Washington faculty in 2001 as a clinical assistant professor.

Fang is currently the medical director for primary care and population health at the University of Washington, working across entities, engaging with leaders at Harborview Medical Center, UW Montlake Medical Center and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center to promote equitable population health initiatives.

As medical director of primary care and population health, Fang developed a physician lead position for health equity. She has shown outstanding effort in the area of promoting equity in cancer screening.  She is co-chair of the UW Medicine Breast Cancer Screening Equity Workgroup which has worked successfully across UW entities to improve breast cancer screening rates for Black and African-American women as well as supporting community outreach. In 2022, she received the Washington State Health Equity Champion award from the American Cancer Society Washington Board of Directors.

She has maintained a diverse primary care practice in South King County at the UW Federal Way clinic for 21 years. Fang has been recognized by her patients and peers with UW Medicine PRAISE Awards, UW Medicine CARES Team Award and a Seattle Metropolitan Magazine Top Doctor Award.
