Andrea Christopher appointed Associate Program Director for Boise IM Residency

Dr. Andrea Christopher, assistant professor (GIM) has been appointed as an Associate Program Director for the UW Boise Internal Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Andrea Christopher, MD, MPH, FACP completed her MD, internship, and residency at UW before completing a fellowship and MPH at Harvard. She then joined the faculty of UW in 2017 and is a primary care provider at the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In addition to caring for patients and teaching future physicians, she also researches disparities in access to healthcare among vulnerable populations. These activities are supplemented by community engagement; she is a vocal advocate of expanding Medicaid and currently sits on the Boise mayor’s equity advisory committee.

In 2019, Dr. Christopher received the Appreciation Award for Advocacy & Community Service from the Northwest Region of the Society of General Internal Medicine. Her current appointment as the Associate Program Director for UW Boise Internal Medicine Residency took effect in January of this year.
