Dr. Nayan Arora named Nephrology Resident/Med Student Coordinator
Dr. Arora, clinical assistant professor (Nephrology), an alum of the UW Nephrology fellowship program, has been named as the new Resident/Med Student Coordinator for the Division of Nephrology.
He will work closely with Dr. Bansal, Director of Education, to develop new opportunities for clinical and research experience for residents and medical students. He will serve as the divisional liaison with leadership within the Department of Medicine and School of Medicine that oversee sub-specialty rotations and with Dr. Sanghavi in her role as the Course Director for Nephrology within the School of Medicine.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Arora completed his undergraduate education and medical schooling at the University of Washington and he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2010. He did his residency training at the UW as well, following which he was selected as the Chief Medical Resident at the VA Puget Sound, and was awarded the VA Commendation and Director’s Medal of Excellence in December 2013. After a brief stint in private practice, he returned to UW as a fellow in Nephrology and joined as a member of the faculty in September 2019. Since then he has excelled as an innovative educator serving as a Visual Abstract Editor for CJASN, and a co-host and co-editor of the Freely Filtered Podcast for Nephrology Journal Club, each episode of which is streamed over 16,000 times.
