Dr. Hans-Peter Kiem, professor (Medical Oncology) is the new president of American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT), the world’s largest professional organization focused on Gene and Cell therapies.
Dr. Kiem is the Director of Cell & Gene Therapy at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and holds the Stephanus Family Endowed Chair for Cell and Gene Therapy. He is globally recognized in stem cell, gene therapy and gene editing techniques.
ASGCT was founded by the late Dr. George Stamatoyannopoulos, head of the University of Washington Division of Medical Genetics from 1989 to 2005.
