Bessie Young selected as ELAM fellow

Dr. Bessie Young is a professor in the Division of Nephrology and associate chair for diversity and inclusion.
The Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program offers an intensive one-year fellowship of leadership training with extensive coaching, networking and mentoring opportunities aimed at expanding the national pool of qualified women candidates.
Her selection places her among the very best and brightest of today’s and tomorrow’s women leaders in academic medicine, dentistry, public health, and pharmacy.
Dr. Young will be following in the footsteps of ELAM alumnae from the School of Medicine, including four from the Department of Medicine: Christine Abrass, Virginia Broudy, J. Lee Nelson, and Catherine Otto.
