Vincent Raikhel new associate program director for curriculum

Dr. Vincent Raikhel, assistant professor (General Internal Medicine) will join the Seattle IM Residency Program leadership team as associate program director for curriculum on July 1. He is currently director of the Clinician Educator pathway.

Raikhel began his academic career in music, earning a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, followed by advanced training in Berlin and a Master of Music from the University of California, San Diego. He later transitioned into medicine, completing post-baccalaureate studies at Columbia University and earning his MD from Weill Cornell Medical College.

He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Washington and served as chief resident in quality and safety at the Seattle VA, before joining the UW  faculty in 2021.

He currently serves as core faculty for both the residency program and the Center for Learning and Excellence in Medical Education. His work focuses on improving clinical teaching, feedback delivery, curriculum design and simulation-based education.

Raikhel has received several teaching awards, including the Society for General Internal Medicine Northwest Regional Teaching Competition Award and the Paul B. Beeson Award for excellence in teaching and mentorship.
