Collette Abbott new associate program director for inpatient medicine

Dr. Collette Abbott, assistant professor (General Internal Medicine) will be associate program director for inpatient medicine at Harborview Medical Center for the UW Seattle Internal Medicine Residency Program, effective July 1, 2025.

Abbott is an outstanding educator and clinician with the Harborview hospital medicine group, and she brings phenomenal experience mentoring learners.

She is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington. Following residency, she was a chief resident in global health in Naivasha, Kenya in 2019-20 and is the current global health pathway director.

As pathway director she has worked closely with Drs. Jessica Bender and Carey Farquhar in leading the didactic curriculum for the global health immersion block.
