Gender Equity Awards named after Barbara Jung

In honor of her many contributions to gender equity in the Department of Medicine, we have named our Gender Equity Champion awards after Department Chair Dr. Barbara Jung.

She established our Gender Equity Council in 2020 to advise her on matters related to gender equity, make recommendations to ensure an equitable and inclusive environment in the department, and plan and implement activities that promote gender equity.

The Gender Equity Awards were created in 2022 to recognize and celebrate individuals who are advancing women/gender minorities in medicine through mentorship, leadership, advocacy, teaching and/or research.
