Michelle Zhang featured in Best of SWOG research webinar

Dr. Zhang was an invited speaker at the webinar, which highlights some of the best SWOG work from 2023.

Dr. Michelle Zhang, internal medicine R3 resident, was an invited presenter at the Best of SWOG research webinar on her research evaluating the relationship between obesity and survival in patients with acute myeloid leukemia treated on the SWOG 1203 clinical trial.

Sidenote

The SWOG Cancer Research Network is a global cancer research community that designs and conducts publicly funded clinical trials.

Zhang has been working on this project with the mentorship of Dr. Mary-Beth Percival, associate professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology.

Zhang is the first author/presenter and winner of an abstract achievement award for this research at the 2023 American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting.

She was also the first author/presenter on another abstract at ASH 2023, "Evaluation of ECOG Performance Status at Diagnosis and Relapse in Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia".
