Lorena Alarcon-Casas Wright receives Outstanding Service Award

Dr. Lorena Alarcon-Casas Wright, professor of clinical practice (Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition) is the 2025 recipient of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) Outstanding Service Award for the Promotion of Endocrine Health to the Underserved.  

This national award is presented to a healthcare professional who has made outstanding contributions in vision, leadership, innovation, commitment, and action to endocrine healthcare through either service to underserved communities or clinical or academic work to address healthcare disparities.

Dr. Wright was recognized for her efforts to found and lead the LatinX Clinic at the UW Medicine Diabetes Institute, her commitment to mentoring under-represented students, and her outreach efforts to engage underserved communities in healthcare and expanding health knowledge in diabetes prevention and treatment.
