Katherine Tuttle to receive two prestigious awards
Tuttle is the 2026 recipient of the Clinical Research Prize and Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Heart Association. She is the first person to receive both awards in the same year.

Dr. Katherine Tuttle, clinical professor (Nephrology) has been selected as the 2026 recipient of two prestigious awards from the American Heart Association (AHA).
The Clinical Research Prize recognizes scientists whose research has directly changed patient care. The Distinguished Scientist Award recognizes a lifetime of contributions to science and medicine.
She is the first person to receive both awards in the same year.
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the American Heart Association,” said Tuttle. “Throughout my career, I have focused on collaboration to advance clinical research and improve the lives of people living with cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic diseases.”
