Michael Schwartz receives Laureate Award

Dr. Michael Schwartz, professor (Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition) will receive the 2022 Roy O. Greep Award for Outstanding Research from the Endocrine Society.

Dr. Schwartz is being honored for his many contributions to research in endocrinology, particularly his studies on how the brain regulates energy balance and moderates blood sugar levels.  He is now working on potential new brain treatments for Type 2 diabetes. 

The Laureate Awards recognize endocrinologists for seminal research, meritorious service, leadership and mentorship, innovation, international contributions, public service, translation of science to practice, and lifetime achievement.
