Long COVID Interest Group
Long COVID Interest group
The Long COVID Interest Group is a collaboration between the UW Medicine Post-COVID Rehab and Recovery clinic and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
Dr. Anita Chopra, clinical assistant professor (General Internal Medicine) is the physician lead for this national initiative consisting of members from around the country, particularly primary care physicians, rehabilitation medicine physicians, and specialists interested in learning about management strategies and the latest research in the field.
The group is an effort to share knowledge and experience in managing post-Covid conditions and to explain the latest research in the area. It also disseminates monthly newsletters and podcasts to provide resources to practitioners.

Long covid
Up to 70% of people infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 (knowingly or sometimes, unknowingly) may experience long-term medical complications which can last weeks to months or longer. These complications, known as Long COVID, can present with a wide range of new, returning, or ongoing health problems.
As research and clinical experience in managing this condition has continued to accumulate and evolve, forums such as the Long COVID Interest Group are vital in sharing recommendations and strategies to improve patient care.
