Dr. Sioban Keel, associate professor (Hematology) has been appointed as holder of the Robert and Phyllis Henigson Endowed Chair in Hematology.
This endowed chair was established in 2010 to enhance the University’s ability to recruit and retain distinguished faculty in the Division of Hematology. The endowment was created by the in grateful recognition of the extraordinary medical skills of Dr. Michael Linenberger, who was the first holder of the chair.
Dr. Keel’s clinical and research interests include benign red blood cell disorders, iron metabolism, acquired aplastic anemia, congenital marrow failure syndromes, neurovisceral porphyrias, hemostasis and thrombosis disorders.
