Dr. Lianne Hirano, clinical assistant professor (Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine) is the new Program Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, replacing Dr. Wayne McCormick. Dr. Hirano has been serving as the Associate Program Director of this multi-disciplinary training program, and has already transformed the training program with new, innovative didactics and rotations.
The Fellowship attracts well over 100 applicants every year for six positions. Applicants come from multiple specialties, and the graduates have gone on to remarkable accomplishments in the Pacific Northwest and beyond under Dr. Hirano’s mentorship.
