Sarah Haeger receives research fellowship

The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) has recognized Dr. Sarah Haeger, acting instructor (Nephrology) as a 2026 recipient of the Ben J. Lipps Research Fellowship.

This fellowship is one of the field's most competitive awards, supporting early-career investigators committed to advancing kidney science.

In her funded project, “Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Chronic Heart Failure Induced Kidney Injury,” Haeger will investigate why patients with chronic heart failure so frequently develop kidney injury — a clinical intersection that worsens outcomes yet remains poorly understood.
