Ajay Gopal named holder of the Stephen Hans Petersdorf, MD Endowed Chair in Cancer Care

Dr. Ajay Gopal, professor (Medical Oncology) has been appointed to the Stephen Hans Petersdorf, MD Endowed Chair in Cancer Care.
Renamed to honor Dr. Stephen Petersdorf, who cared for cancer patients for over 35 years, this endowed chair in cancer care was created to support the work of an outstanding clinician and teacher whose primary interest is the clinical care of cancer patients.
Dr. Gopal is the medical director of clinical research for hematology malignancies at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. His research specializes in lymphomas and other cancers of the blood, and he develops new targeted treatments for patients with lymphoma.
