Inequity is one of the most critical challenges in the US health care system, and an issue that requires payment and related delivery system redesign.

Together with colleagues, GIM faculty and Department of Medicine Associate Chair for Health Systems Joshua Liao has worked to raise awareness about this issue, organize stakeholders across health care in a call to action, and outline steps for making progress.

Health Equity Conversations is a new limited podcast series that supports that goal. Hosted by Dr. Liao, the series features discussions with people and groups around the country that are working to improve equity through health care payment and delivery and other systems changes.

In the inaugural episode, Dr. Liao talks with leaders from the American College of Physicians (ACP), the largest internal medicine specialty organization in the world. The conversation includes how ACP is using policy and advocacy to support payment and other changes to combat inequity, as well as areas and directions for future work.

Interested individuals can access episodes directly from the Department of Medicine Health Systems Collective, or subscribe via Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
