Dr. Richard Zager, professor is retiring after 36 years with the University of Washington.

Dr. Richard Zager, professor (Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine) is retiring after 36 years with the University of Washington. Zager significantly contributed to internal medicine education and research regarding acute kidney injury and has been extensively published with over 200 peer-reviewed papers.
Over the years, he has mentored 17 advanced trainees and has received numerous clinical and teaching honors in our community. Recently, he has concentrated on translating experimental observations to the clinical setting with the prime goal of developing pharmacologic approaches for the prevention of acute kidney injury. In recognition of his numerous contributions and his career, he will be appointed professor emeritus.
