Dr. Allan Fonseca, fellow (Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine) has received the Underrepresented Trainee Development Scholarship from the American Thoracic Society (ATS) for his research in lung health in American Indian/Alaska Native communities.
The Underrepresented Trainee Development Scholarship supports early-career individuals who have faced challenges and obstacles to entry and advancement in medicine, research, and academic health professions.
The program focuses on fostering opportunities for trainees from backgrounds with limited representation in these health care fields.
