Dr. Christopher Knight, MD, FACP has been promoted to Professor of Medicine as of July 1, 2022 based on his outstanding contributions as a clinician scholar. 

Knight received his medical degree from and completed his medical training at the University of Washington, where he stayed on as a chief resident and then joined the faculty in the Division of General Medicine. He is recognized as an outstanding educator, leader, and clinician.

Throughout his tenure at UW, Dr. Knight has been actively involved with the education of learners across the training spectrum. He has served as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, Associate Clerkship Director for Medicine Student Programs, and Director of WWAMI Regional Teaching Programs for the Department of Medicine.

On a national level, Dr. Knight worked on the development and then later directed the TEACH faculty development program for the Society of General Internal Medicine. He also serves on two governing committees for the National Board of Medical Examiners. In addition to his myriad activities as an educator, Chris has held the role of Governor for the Washington Chapter of the American College of Physicians, providing state-wide and national leadership.

Dr. Knight is an active clinician, providing primary care at the General Internal Medicine Center at the University of Washington Medical Center Roosevelt Clinic and on the inpatient service at University of Washington – Montlake. He is lauded as an adept clinician and a model for professionalism.
