Başak Çoruh to serve as Vice Chair of the American Thoracic Society Education Committee
The education committee oversees the American Thoracic Society (ATS) educational programs and provides an educational consulting service to assist ATS members in the development of educational opportunities both at and outside the International Conference.
This committee also partners with other educational groups to develop new learning formats for the ATS and timely “rapid response” documents after events such as natural disasters on an as-needed basis. The committee also endeavors to study the outcomes of the many educational offerings of the ATS.
Başak Çoruh, MD, is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care medicine physician at UW Medical Center - Montlake, program director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship, and an associate professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
She cares for patients in the Medical, Surgical, and Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant intensive care units and provides inpatient pulmonary consultation. She strives to create active partnerships with her patients and their families and enjoys the team-based approach to patient care in the intensive care unit.
Her clinical interests include sepsis, respiratory failure, and infections in immunocompromised patients.
