Eric Chow appointed to Committee on Infectious Diseases
Dr. Eric Chow, clinical associate professor (Allergy and Infectious Diseases) has been appointed to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Committee on Infectious Diseases (COID). His 6-year term started July 1.
The AAP COID develops the recommendations for diagnostics, treatment and control measures of infectious diseases in children and adolescents, prepares updated editions of the Red Book, and issues independent, evidence-based key policy guidance on COVID-19, RSV and influenza immunizations and the Recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedule.
Over the last year, COID provided expert guidance on vaccine policy, outbreak response, infectious diseases legislation, and public communications during a time of significant change in the federal public health landscape.
