Intersection of Equity, Alcohol, Community and HIV
Dr. Geetanjali Chander, professor and head (General Internal Medicine) is PI on a five-year, $8.4 million NIH Center Grant. The Alcohol Research Consortium in HIV Center for Research at the Intersection of Alcohol, Community and HIV (ARCH REACH) will expand the scope and relevance of scientific knowledge and treatment interventions at the intersection of the HIV Care Continuum, the Alcohol Care Continuum, and HIV-related comorbidities.
ARCH REACH will develop, tailor, and implement evidence-based interventions (EBIs) for alcohol reduction that are accessible to People with HIV (PWH) with unhealthy alcohol use; address syndemic conditions in their intervention, implementation, and epidemiology work; and actively engage PWH with diverse lived experiences in their center.
DOM project PIs include Judith Tsui and Joseph Delaney (General Internal Medicine) and H. Nina Kim and Heidi Crane (Allergy and Infectious Diseases).
