Virginia Broudy appointed interim chair
Dr. Virginia Broudy will become Interim Chair of the Department of Medicine, effective August 1.

Dr. Broudy is Chief of Medicine at Harborview Medical Center, Vice Chair in the Department of Medicine and the Scripps Endowed Professor of Hematology.
She earned her medical degree from UC San Francisco and completed her internship, residency and fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University. She came to the UW Department of Medicine in 1985 as a senior fellow.
Among her numerous achievements, she has been awarded the Paul Beeson Award and the Marvin Turck Award for excellence in clinical care and teaching.
