Dr. Pavan Bhatraju, associate professor (Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine) has been selected as the 2024 recipient of the Western Association of Physicians (WAP) and the Western Society for Clinical Investigation (WSCI) Outstanding Investigator Award.

The Outstanding Investigator Award is one of the most prestigious awards given by these societies, and is presented in recognition of Dr. Bhatraju’s outstanding scientific contributions to academic medicine.

 
 
 

Dr. Bhatraju's research interests include studying the genetic and clinical risks for the development of acute kidney injury and sepsis in the intensive care unit.

He is co-director of the University of Washington Sepsis Center of Research Excellence (SCORE), a collaborative medial research center focused on sepsis translational science.
