Barbara Jung to become president of American Gastroenterological Association
Dr. Barbara Jung, chair of the Department of Medicine, joins the presidential line up for the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).

Jung will serve as vice president, president-elect and will become president in 2023.
Founded in 1897, AGA has more than 16,000 members from around the globe who are involved in all aspects of the science, practice and advancement of gastroenterology.
Jung is a practicing gastroenterologist with a laboratory and clinical focus on colon cancer. She considers the AGA her community and has worn many hats at AGA, starting with member and then chair of the ethics committee, and most recently as a member of the finance and operations committee, chair-elect of the audit committee and vice chair of the AGA Research Foundation.
She will be the 4th woman holding this office.
