Young Investigator Awards

First awarded in 1984, the Young Investigator Award provides research funding to promising young physicians during the final years of training to support the transition to a faculty appointment and to encourage quality research in clinical oncology.

Dr. Hiba Khan, fellow (Medical Oncology) for “Dismantling Disparities in Access to Oral Novel Hormonal Therapies in Prostate Cancer--A Mixed-Methods Analysis from a Population, Systems, and Patient-Centered Lens.”

Dr. Lynn Symonds, assistant professor (Medical Oncology) for “Evaluation of genomic risk scores and the presence of metastasis initiating cells in early-stage estrogen receptor positive breast cancer.”
