2021 Chair of Medicine Scholars
Dr. McKenna Eastment is a senior fellow/acting instructor in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. She earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago and MPH in Epidemiology from UW School of Public Health. Her clinical interests include HIV care, Infectious Diseases care, and General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Leah Marcotte is an acting assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and associate director for Population Health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Marcotte's clinical interests include care of older adults and helping patients to self-manage chronic diseases.
Dr. Ana Weil is an acting assistant professor in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and her MPH from Johns Hopkins. Dr. Weil studies the relationship between the gut microbiome and immune responses to enteric diseases.
The Chair of Medicine Scholars Award was established in 2013 by the Department of Medicine and awarded annually to meritorious University of Washington Department of Medicine trainees to foster the transition of awardees to the roles of physician-scientist and principal investigator as young faculty members.
