Congratulations to Dr. Michael Boeckh, professor (Allergy and Infectious Diseases), Dr. Gail Jarvik, professor and head (Medical Genetics) and Dr. Effie Petersdorf, professor (Medical Oncology) who have been elected as members of the Association of American Physicians (AAP).

Election to the AAP is in recognition of attaining excellence in the pursuit of medical knowledge, and the advancement through experimentation and discovery of basic and clinical science and their application to clinical medicine.

The Association of American Physicians (AAP) is an honorary medical society founded in 1885 by the Canadian physician Sir William Osler and six other distinguished physicians of his era for “the advancement of scientific and practical medicine.”

Election to the AAP is an honor extended to physicians with outstanding credentials in basic or translational biomedical research and is limited to 70 persons per year.
