Virginia Broudy receives David B. Thorud Leadership Award
Dr. Virginia Broudy, professor (Hematology) is this year’s recipient of the David B. Thorud Leadership Award.

This award is given to those who demonstrate leadership, including exhibiting innovation, the ability to find practical solutions for complex problems, teamwork and excellent listening skills.
In her 35-year career in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Broudy has exemplified creative, results-oriented leadership and outstanding communication skills.
Her two most notable leadership roles include Chief of Medicine at Harborview Medical Center and Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2018, and Interim Chair of the Department of Medicine from 2018-2019.
In addition to exemplary leadership, she has also been awarded the Paul Beeson Award and the Marvin Turck Award for excellence in clinical care and teaching.
