Farid Moussavi-Harami receives Paul F. Cranefield Award

The Society of General Physiologists has selected Dr. Farid Moussavi-Harami, assistant professor (Cardiology) as the 2024 Paul F. Cranefield Award winner.

The Paul F. Cranefield Award was created by the Council of the Society of General Physiologists to honor Paul F. Cranefield, M.D., Ph.D., who served as Editor of the Journal of General Physiology for 30 years. The Award is meant to recognize an independent young investigator who in the preceding calendar year has published an outstanding article in the Journal.

Moussavi-Harami is recognized for his article, "Machine learning meets Monte Carlo methods for models of muscle’s molecular machinery to classify mutations".

Moussavi-Harami received the award and presented at the SGP Awards Symposium during the Biophysical Society Meeting on February 11, 2024. 

 
 
 

Dr. Farid Moussavi-Harami is a general cardiologist with interest in treatment of coronary artery disease and heart failure. He is a physician-scientist and his research interest is in muscle mechanics and finding novel therapies for heart failure.
